Summary
Concerning Coleridge's publication of an essay on Principal Shairp at the same time Knight is publishing his Memorial of Shairp; saying "I really do not think your book will suffer in the slightest - I agree - I should be very sorry indeed if it did - To judge by the Preface which [illegible] (with only [illegible] small suggested corrections) it will be admirable;" commenting on John Keble in reply to a comment that Knight appears to have made to Coleridge; saying "...I think I have told you I remember just the same sort of thing in the silly women, male & female, who surrounded caged & dwarfed Mr. Keble - I am glad you will be firm. I sent you a head of myself to St. Andrew's - I hope it may have arrived by now but I told Colnaghi to frame it & he takes his time I know;" sending his regards and asking him to remember he is always welcome in Devonshire.
