Summary
Concerning his contribution to Knight's memorial of Principal Shairp; saying he was out on the circuit in the North of England and then on his return to London his work has been "...unusually difficult & laborious" Except thinking over my proposed paper & talking about it I have done but little & I can only say that you shall have something as the outcome of my Christmas holiday...I like the Coleorton volumes very much - but strange to say Dorothy seems to me the least interesting of all the writers.".
