Summary
Concerning continuing difficulties in publishing the Coleridge letters; saying "I am not at all without hope that my cousins may see their way to allowing of the publication of the letters of S.T.C. But they are poor & I can say what they could not that while they have no question for a mere nominal acknowledgement - of their right -, to allow of the publication in a book - they do not quite see why Mr. Knowles or any one else should make a profit out of their property in a mere catchpenny magazine which only spoils the market - & does not enshrine or really preserve, in a literary sense, the author - I am myself very anxious personally to see S.T.C. in such noble company; & I think a Coleorton volume is sure to be full of interest. I care much less or not at all about Mr. Knowles & his magazine - you will think he is my bête noir - I think he is;" adding, in a postscript, that he will let him know as soon as he learns anything from his cousins.
