Summary
Reiterating his promise that "...whenever any gentleman with a St. Andrews degree applies to me to be dispensed with his preliminary examination I will take care on being satisfied of the fact that he has such a degree that he shall be dispensed from the preliminary examination;" adding, in a postscript, "If you want more than this the Law Institution in Chancery Lane & not the Chief Justice is the authority to which you must apply."
