Summary
Concerning the manuscript of Wordsworth's The Recluse; saying "I dare say you know - if not it is well you should know - that there exists in MS one complete book of The Recluse. Wordsworth's son for reasons no doubt satisfactory to himself has always refused to allow it to be published & it exists I believe in a single copy - I think if you will forgive me for saying so this certainly ought to be included in the Library Edition of his works which you contemplate - I have not been able to get to put my hand on a copy of the first Edition of the Descriptive Sketches - but I do not despair - Pray do not trouble yourself to acknowledge this - I am wandering about Ireland & shall not be back in London for a week.
