Summary
Suggesting that the two of them meet at Dunthorne's on the 18th; objecting to the accusative tone of Knight's last letter regarding the framing of the pictures and other matters at Dove Cottage: "No one ever attempted to restrict your choice as to how your things sh. be arranged. The first person placed on the sub-committee was yourself, & everyone understood that what you desired sh. be done, & that all plans sh. be submitted to you [...] It is impossible to 'ignore your name.' Everyone knows now of your gift, & always will know of it [...] I think if you were to read over your letter to me, you would yourself see that the whole tone of it was one of accusation, & of accusation which I did not deserve [...] My only wish is that you sh. do exactly as you like"; suggesting that they talk things over in person.
