Summary
Informing Knight that the trustees of Dove Cottage will be discussing the purchase of the "Preston Collection" (books once owned by Wordsworth -- see MA 9087.18) at their next meeting; adding that "[George] Craik has, I fancy, some proposition to make. We are all anxious to follow yr. advice, if possible, but our purse has its bottom"; asking again for the list of books in the collection; writing that he would like to have "photographs of the best portraits" of Wordsworth hung up in Dove Cottage as soon as possible and asking Knight for advice in this matter: "I wonder if at some leisure moment you who know all wd. put down what memorials we should try for."
