Identity of recipient and year of writing suggested by internal evidence: Yeats sends his kind regards to "Mrs. Mathews" and refers to his delay in sending hand colored copies of his work "Treasures" to the recipient, a probably reference to his play “The treasure of the garden”, produced in 1902 and published by Elkin Mathews in 1903.
