Summary
Writing that he is sorry to hear that "Frau Gatternigg [i.e. Hedy Verena Gossman, née Duschinsky (1893-1950)] is still so weak and that she is unable to go on with the translation of Men Like Gods", and observing that he will have to make whatever arrangements he can for the book's publication; refusing her request to pay for Gatternigg to attend the writers' colony in Switzerland and pointing out that "Frau Gatternigg did her best to create an ugly & injurious scandal about me, she has held up the translation of my work for a long time & from first to last I suppose I have paid her over £150 with absolutely nothing in return. I am sorry for the distress she has brought upon herself but I do not see that I am called upon to finance her further."
