Summary
Responding to Goldring's "story of F.M.H." (i.e. Ford Madox Ford, né Joseph Leopold Ford Hermann Madox Hueffer), and pointing out to him that it "misses one one primarily essential fact. In the 1914-18 war he was a bad case of shellshock from which he never recovered. The pre war F.M.H. was tortuous but understandable, the post war F.M.H. was incurable crazy. He got crazier & carzier. Fill in that gap and you will have your story complete."; adding in a postscript, "He wrote some good verses which I under valued."
