Summary
Requesting that he use his influence to secure employment for Powers as one of the artists commissioned by the legislature of New Hampshire to create statues to be sent to the Old Hall of Representatives in Washington [i.e. today's National Statuary Hall]; outlining his qualifications as an artist and student of his father, Hiram Powers, his responsibility for the completion of his father's unfinished statuary, his present commission from the state of Vermont to create a statue of Jacob Collamer for the House of Representatives, and including a list of notable Americans whose portraits he as executed as a sculptor.
