Summary
A composition book containing a Resolution (2 p.), dated October 26, 1829, to form a debating club at Trinity College and the Minutes of several meetings of the club, dated October 30, 1829 to March 12, 1830 (8 p.). Each entry contains the topic discussed along with a list of those members who spoke in the affirmative and negative on the topic, followed by the verdict of the member presiding over the meeting. Followed by several pages in the hand of Thackeray's daughter Anne Thackeray Ritchie, who took the book to use for her lessons. One page contains a signed attestation by Hester Fuller (Anne Ritchie's daughter) identifying her mother's handwriting. Several pages contain sketches which may be Thackeray's or, as asserted in a second note by Hester Fuller, Anne Ritchie.
