Summary
Informing him of his split from Elliott, asking him to sit for a photograph and praising Trilby; saying "Since you did the enclosed design for me there has been a split in the camp; a 'riot within the lute' and I am no longer associated with Mr. Elliott in business : The old place at Baker Street knows me no more but my Son & I have a nice place here all on the Ground Floor. I should be so glad if you would give me a sitting. I wish I could convey to you the effect that your wonderful book had on me : I was fascinated! That passage - that musical poem describing Her singing is unique in its beauty & I feel the pathos of the story. I knew F. Walker - he often came to see Charles Keene at Baker St. in our early days - I hope you wont think me effusive. You must have been inundated with congratulations."
