Summary
A collection of 48 autograph letters signed (MA 640.9-13, MA 640.15-21, and MA 640.23-58) and 8 letters signed (MA 640.1-8) from Frederick II to his chamberlain, the Marquis d'Argens. The volume also includes two letters signed sent by Frederick to the Marquise d'Argens after the death of her husband (MA 640.62-3); one poem fragment in Frederick's autograph (MA 640.60); two poems in the hand of a secretary, one with corrections by Frederick (MA 640.14 and MA 640.59); a letter addressed to Frederick II from the "poète de la cour" (MA 640.22); and a letter addressed to the Marquis d'Argens by an unknown writer (MA 640.61).
