Franklin refers to a letter that was forwarded to him from his father dated April 24 which discusses the Ohio affair; the Papers of Benjamin Franklin, volume 18, p. 74, publishes the text of an "incomplete draft" of a letter to William Franklin from Benjamin Franklin, dated April 20, 1771 and in this draft he refers to the Ohio Affair and his hopes for a satisfactory conclusion "if the present Ministry stand a little longer."
