Referring to a young lawyer whom the Marquis de Condorcet recommended to Franklin and who wishes to return to Boston; adding, in a postscript, his compliments on his eulogy of M. l'Hopital, saying "I knew you before as a great Mathematician; I now consider you as one of the first among the Politicians of Europe."
