Discussing, at length, the Parliamentary election for Bridport in which he was a contestant; continuing the letter later that evening and reporting election results; saying "We have laboured very hard in all ways, I am sanguine that it will not have been in vain;" adding a postscript to say that he still has no definite results but will report again in his next letter.
