The letter is addressed simply to "Miss Francis" with the salutation "Dear Infant;" Catherine Francis was the youngest child and according to the Memoirs of Sir Philip Francis by Parkes and Merivale (London: Longmans, Green and Co., 1867) she "remained longest at the head of her father's house;" Catherine married in 1814.
