Summary
Asking for a reference on William Bunnell, "...whom I understand from Mr. Thomson of Northumberland, you had for some time in the management of your farm operations - You would oblige me very much by letting me know what his abilities as a farmer are, his capacity for keeping men & things in order and whether he is a person that will be pleasant in the constant daily intercourse one naturally has, when taking a very lively interest, as I do, in extensive farming operations I am carrying on - I look for a man who will not think himself above adopting advice & improvements - and who establish the neatness about him, which we look for in vain among our country people."
