Summary
Thanking him for his letter and publications, particularly his book on money, which he praises for its "erudition, intelligence, and sentiment," and saying that if a post arises [as director of the League of Nations' planned International Institute for International Cooperation, which was being established in Paris at the time], he will warmly support him. He adds, "What a pity that you let yourself be baptized. If I had not heard such favorable things about yoru character elsewhere, this woudl have given me pause. It generally bespeaks the predominance of egoism over the community spirit." [translation excerpts by the editors of The Collected Papers of Albert Einstein]
