Notes
Written from "10 Holles Street." There are Holles Streets in both Dublin and London, but based on the contents of the letter, it seems most likely to have been written in London.
Edgeworth lists "Saturday" for the date of writing. There is a postmark of 17 May 1813 on the address panel. May 17th fell on a Monday in that year, suggesting that the letter was probably written on the 15th.
Address panel with intact seal and postmarks: "To / Madame d'Arblay / 23. Chenies Street / Tottenham Court Road."
