Summary
Sending him "a short poem on Mahomet for the magazine" (possibly Fraser's Magazine); asking if Parker is ready to print Blackie's Lyra Latina, as he wants to know whether he can depend on having copies available for his classes in January; informing him that he will not be able to use their edition of Tacitus for the winter semester, "as my classes are this year rather youthful for so [severe] an author", but that he does expect to use their Cicero; asking whether their edition of Ovid's Fasti contains the whole text or only extracts: "It is an excellent class book, and I have used it several times--only I should like a few obscenities [clipped] out."
