Summary
Reminding him of a libretto for an opera that Balfe is composing that he recently sent him and sending him a "two-act comic drama (an original piece of my own) which I have hopes may prove acceptable at your theatre. It is in the hope that, during the vacation, you may have time to bestow the attention of perusal upon it, that I send it, so immediately upon the other, as the theatre is, I see, on the point of closing;" congratulating him on the success of "your benefit last night and wishes for the best result to all your future undertakings."
