Summary
Entreating Jefferson to accept an unidentified volume of her poetry on Native American themes (possibly "Traits of the Aborigines of America," 1822); crediting the passages pertaining to Native Americans in Jefferson's "Notes on the State of Virginia" with kindling her own interest in their situation; adding that after recent personal audiences with both John Adams and Charles Thompson, she would consider herself "eminently fortunate" to meet with Jefferson as well.
