Summary
Thanking him for copies of the Monthly Mirror and expressing interest in a subscription; saying that he has had second thoughts about a letter he wrote for Hill as a part of a tribute to David Garrick, in particular that he "should have endeavour'd at more correctness of style had I known your wish to insert it under my Name in yr Work"; adding "I cou'd wish too not to make public that I had any disagreements with him -- but they were professional ones"; asking Hill to make these alterations and promising "[s]hou'd any other anecdotes occur I shall be ready to communicate them"; discussing the issue of salary stoppages: "I believe the particular article of stoppage of Salary in Case of Sickness was first introduced to check occasional Indisposition from Caprice -- I never had an article of that sort with Mr Garrick or any other Manager in my Life -- It was once propos'd to me under the Management of Mr Beard but I refus'd & never wou'd sign it, thinking it a very oppressive one --".
