Summary
Concerning his financial affairs, remarking that his hopes "were destroyed" by Godwin's letter and noting that "the feelings occasioned by this discovery were so bitter & so excruciating that I am resolved for the future to stifle all those expectations which my sanguine temper too readily erects on the slightest relaxation of the contempt & the neglect in the midst of which I live." Discussing in detail particulars related to Shelley's arrangement to sell his father the rights of reversion granted in his grandfather's will, noting that the affair is now in the chancery courts; promising to try to procure funds for Godwin.
