The old hag in a red cloak, inscribed to the author of the Grim White Woman : manuscript copy of the poem, undated [1801 or later].

In Watson-Taylor's introduction to the poem (1802), he states that it was "written long before the work upon which they are founded was presented to the Public" (Matthew Lewis's Tales of Wonder, 1801).
