Formerly bound with a letter from George Washington to Tobias Lear (MA 999.1), Company Orders issued by Captain Joseph McIlvaine on the death of General Washington (MA 999.2), two additional letters by Martha Washington (MA 1000 and 1014) and a letter from Abigail Adams (MA 1018). These letters were bound together at the Library after being individually acquired; this synthetic collection was disbound in 2015, and the binding was retained.

Summary
Relating her observations of Boston; saying "every person seems to be chearfull and happy here, -- some days we have a number of Cannon and shells from Boston and Bunkers Hill, but it does not seem to surprise any one but me; I confes I shuder every time I hear the sound of a gun.......thare seems to be a number of very fine Buildings in Boton [sic] but god knows how long they will stand; they are pulling up all the warfs for fire wood -- To me that never see any thing of war, the preperations are very terable indeed, but I endevor to keep my fears to my self as well as I can;" relating news of mutual friends.
