Notes
A map of parts of New Jersey and New York, created by Robert Erskine in 1777 for General Washington, was part of the original purchase of this collection and was housed in a red morocco case as MA 507 (2) and titled "Washington's War Map of New York and New Jersey." The map was loaned to the Library of Congress in 1932 and the original linen mounting was removed and the map was remounted. The original linen mounting with a letter from the Library to Congress dated January 24, 1933 is retained in the case shelved with MA 507. The map is now cataloged separately as MA 508.
