Accordingly to W.S. Lewis, the MS was sold at Sotheby's 18 Dec. 1891, bound in a volume of MSS labeled 'Junius Controversy,' to Pearson; sold by Pearson to Pierpont Morgan in 1892; removed from the volume in 1925.
Part of a collection of the correspondence of Horace Walpole to various recipients including Henry Seymour Conway, Benjamin Ibbot and Horace Mann and with a small number of miscellaneous writings and copies of the writings of others.
