Summary
Sending him newspapers "of this day & Wednesday last. by the papers you'll find that the former Minority men have carried the principal point they had in view which was a change of the Ministry and then have taken up the old plan of sending Commissioners to treat with the States generally or individually. However bitter as the Pill is they must swallow it before long - their present view is to unite Great Britain and divide America and under a total change in the Ministry they flatter themselves they shall succeed supposing we looked upon those former Minority-men to be our friends - but I should suppose no good man ever did or ever will believe that any of them had the least friendship for us, but on the other hand wished unanimously to subjugate us and will consider the step they have now taken in that point of view;" discussing the schooling of his [Thomas Rodney's] son Caesar; discouraging him from sending him to Prince-Town; discussing whether he will be able to move into Doctor Hilton's house; expressing his gratitude for being able to rely on his help in the move; discussing various debts of others and bonds he holds for them.
