Summary
Asking to buy back Lacy's interest in his play "David Garrick" and explaining the reason for his request; adding "I have a notion of going to America with some pieces - also of writing a book about America - and I could exploit D. Garrick - with other pieces there - as I amassed materials for my book - Altogether and for too many reasons to set down here - I should like to have the piece my own property;" adding that he has no intention of selling the play to anyone else and reminding him he has "already received £35 for it - I propose to pay you £15 more - making in all £50 - the £15 to be paid immediately."
