Summary
Asking to be considered for more active service; enclosing a letter signed by the "Officers now present with the Royal Regiment of Ireland - From an idea that prevails in England of the disaffection of the Reg't we trust that you Sir will endeavour to get them employed in some service, where they will have an opportunity of shewing the world, that they are as Loyal and as good a Regiment as any in the Service - I must beg leave to mention that we have been Sixteen years from home, twelve and a half of which in Garrison at Gibraltar; during which time many Junior regiments have been sent on actual Service."
