Summary
A commonplace book, consisting primarily of miscellaneous readings, mainly in philosophy, theology and the classics. Some of this material went into an article Moore wrote for The Edinburgh Review, and some of it (apparently) into Travels of an Irish Gentleman in Search of a Religion. Containing some draft material for Alciphron, the original poetic form of The Epicurean; and also drafts of the preface to Epistles, Odes, and Other Poems; and parts of The Fudge Family in Paris.
