West (dated Sept. 4, 1909) at the front of v. 1 attests to the manuscript's completeness: "the original M.S. of Diana of the Crossways ... is perfect in every respect and tallies paragraph by paragraph, chapter by chapter with Chapman and Hall's printed edition of 1886 [i.e. 1885]"; now ca. 90 p. of this manuscript are now held by the Huntington Library.
