Summary
Concerning a Farce he had written and sent to a Mr. Beckett which was not returned; saying "Mr. Beckett had it and has had it ever since the Theatre opened. I wrote to him to request it six weeks ago - he sent my note to Mr. Corri which was the only notice he took of it - Why he should have detained the Farce when he saw it underlined - and knew how anxiously I was enquiring for it - he best knows - My name star'd him in the face on the outside of it - therefore he could not be ignorant he had it - if I had treated an established Dramatist so, being myself a comparative novice, I should consider I had neither acted courteously or justly but perhaps I am particular - putting that aside - do you think you have any opportunity of doing any thing with it - should you wish me to send it to you;" adding, in a postscript, "I have a little Farcetta in which I think there is a part that would just suit you - verb sat."
