Summary
Informing him that he is marching "with the Pennsylvania and Maryland Troops to Join your Army, and shall leave this place tomorrow for Petersburgh and Taylors ferry, at which I propose to cross the Roan Oke;" saying that his route after that is uncertain and dependent on the Intelligence on the "situation of the Enemy"; adding "should it be such as offers a probability of making a successful stroke at them, I shall do it en passant, and Join you as soon after as possible;" saying that since their recent "Success in this State, there may have happened a total change of circumstances in the Southern States;" saying he will be happy to receive his Order and his advice.
