Summary
Asking if he has had any word on the consecration of Mr. Bass; saying that Dr. Moore of New York told him that the application had been sent to the Convention and then referred by them to the English Archbishops "for their opinion. These steps, to me, look queer, & show a degree of thraldom, both to the Convention & Eng. Abps, that ought not to be;" wondering if he should go to Philadelphia without an official invitation; adding that the Post had just brought him an invitation to Philadelphia and that he would be going and would hope to see him there.
