This letter is from a large collection of letters written to Sir George Howland Beaumont (1753-1827) and Lady Margaret Willes Beaumont (1758-1829) of Coleorton Hall and to other members of the Beaumont family. See collection-level record for more information (MA 1581.1-297).
Not printed in the Grierson edition of the Letters of Scott.

Scott has dated the letter "Thursday, 6th" but the date "April 6, 1820" has been added at the top of the page in pencil in an unknown hand.

Summary
Hoping to see them for breakfast; saying "The short time I stay here is so completely fill'd up that I can only offer myself for the shabby meal of breakfast. If you and Lady Beaumont will permit me I will have that pleasure on Thursday next & bring my son whom I am anxious to present to my friends here."
