Concerning a tax on cotton goods; expressing gratitude to him from the "Cotton and Calicoe Manufacturers & Printers of the County of Lancaster, and the adjacent Counties...for your great attention to them, & for the Services you rendered them in procuring a less burdensome modification of the Tax on their Manufacture, than the duty on bleached and dyed Goods was - and also for opposing the intended Bill for an exclusive right to patterns."
