The year of writing is not provided, however, Mr. Sheridan spoke at the Warren Hastings trial on June 3, 6, 10 and 13; Sir Pigott has dated his letter "Thursday morning / 12 June;" June 12th fell on a Thursday in 1788 and is consistent with the dates of Mr. Sheridan's speech; the day following this letter would have been Friday, June 13th, the final day Mr. Sheridan was speaking.
