Part of a collection of letters from and to William Pitt the Elder and William Pitt the Younger. Letters are described in individual records; see MA 894-895 for more detail.
The letter is dated "Sunday, Sept. 18th" from Holwood; Pitt purchased Holwood in 1785, and Sept. 18 fell on a Sunday in 1785, 1791, and 1796 before Pitt had to sell the house in 1802.
