Acknowledging receipt of his letter and informing him he has shown it to the President; telling him that as General Marshall is in Philadelphia and "ready to depart the moment a vessel shall be Sailing for Holland or Some adjacent port, the President thinks it will be best for you to take your passage from Boston;" adding that "instructions and other papers necessary for your information" will be sent to him.
