Discussing the Philadelphia Convention; noting that "the service and discipline of our church are capable of improvement," but that "reformation ... is a nice & delicate affair & not to be ... attempted by rough hands"; telling him that he thinks it would be proper to wait for the arrival of a bishop before having a meeting of clergy in Massachusetts; mentioning [Samuel] Seabury and asking about his trip to England for consecration.
