Summary
Thanking her for her note and her "delicious publication which my friend Mr. Longman has just forwarded me a copy of. You will see such an allusion to it in the 'Moral' of the next legend, which by the way, I only finished this morning...;" adding "I am confined to the house with an inflammation of the windpipe & larynx which neglect has made serious; this indisposition & other reasons have made me too lazy to finish the story before so that it cant now appear before the 1st of March which perhaps will put Mr. C: all the better as I believe he wishes to illustrate it. You will see that to suit my own purpose I have changed the locale & the agency. Thanks for the lines from Moliere. We have his works in the Library if you can favour me with a reference to the portion which contains them, they are new to me. The outline of Clotilde's story will be all I should wish for & would save you much trouble. Fanny sends her love & will not fail to attend to the contents of your note."
