Summary
Responding to Edmund Burke's letter recommending Captain Faulkner: "a man directed to me by such another as Edmund Burke, I am sure is worth knowing, worth even more than if he came from a King"; instructing him to apply to his brother in Leghorn when he arrives in Italy; directing him to consult the "list of worthy Italians" in his book, and to call on these people if he travels "through the towns where they live"; asking him to enquire for Signor Filippo Baretti if he travels through Turin.
