Discussing Ainsworth's work, news of mutual friends and an upcoming visit by Mrs. Hughes; expressing his delight that "Jack" [Sheppard]...is so soon to come out in a collected form though I shall miss his monthly visit much, but must console myself with his successor Guy;" referring to Ainsworth's promotion saying "I shall be truly rejoiced to see you dancing your hornpipe by and bye 'out of fetters'[.] You will work with ten times the spirit when the cash goes into your own pocket without dilution;" expressing his disappointment that Blanchard has left The Courier; reminding him that Mrs. Hughes is coming to London and suggesting that he, Bentley and Boz come to a party for her; telling him that he will soon move into Sidney Smith's Residentiary House but hopes by the time Mrs. Hughes arrives all the painting will be finished and they will be "fairly installed."
