The letter is undated however she managed the Prince of Wales Theatre with H.J. Byron from 1865 until her marriage in 1867, after which time she performed as Marie Bancroft.
Removed from an extra-illustrated copy of Forster's Life of Dickens.
Written on stationery on which has been glued the circular logo of the Prince of Wales theatre with text "Prince of Wales / Theatre / Marie Wilton / Every Evening."
Summary
Informing him that "Byron has sent the lines so we must(?) forgive him this time;" relating an offer she had to perform in Dublin but was unable to accept as she could not get permission to leave; referring to her prominence, to her role as Pippo and a request for a photograph.
