Sending "an unpretentious quatrain" which illustrates a picture by "the President of the Royal Academy [Frederic Leighton], and is printed in the Catalogue just issued"; including the quatrain: "Yellow and pale, as ripened corn / Which Autumn's kiss frees, -- grain from sheath, -- / Such was her hair, while her eyes beneath / Shewed Spring's faint violets freshly born."
