Summary
Telling Brydges that he was so busy at Petworth, in addition to suffering "a violent strain in my ancle," that he did not have time to gather material on "Penrose & Hole" (probably Thomas Penrose and Richard Hole) for him; referring Brydges to a "Mr. Dunster," who has letters by Hole; mentioning that he has been working hard on his Life of Admiral Lord Nelson and that the book is "now at Press at [Thomas] Bensley's"; suggesting that, when Brydges is in London, he go "see the paintings at Cadells"; adding "I should gladly receive any remarks or hints respecting the best mode of writing the Life"; asking for "some account of [Robert] Dodsley the Poet & the extracts I sent"; asking also who the real author of "Joe Miller" was (possibly referring to Joe Miller's Jests) and when the first edition was published.
